Apache Springs was settled by German-Mexican miner Tobias Alexandre Ramirez and his wife Marie Ramirez in 1902. He opened up a general store and started a farm thinking that the road that went through the baron land would become a travel stop one day. After ten days, people migrating to Canifria took the main road that goes through Apache Springs on horseback, on foot, and a few wealthy families in vehicles, by mid-day, Tobias and his wife were running out of shelf items such as food, water, and gifts. Since some people realized that this town had the needs that many needed, they bought land from Tobias and his wife and settled there. By 1921 the population was 302 and farming had become big there. Many large corporations would travel to Apache Springs and would buy crops & flour in bulk. Tobias and his wife died in 1959, they did not have children.

Apache Springs is a town in Arrowhead County, Canifrina, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 592.


History

He opened up a general store and started a farm thinking that the road that went through the baron land would become a travel stop one day. After ten days, people migrating to Canifrina took the main road that goes through Apache Springs on horseback, on foot, and a few wealthy families in vehicles, by mid-day, Tobias and his wife were running out of shelf items such as food, water, and gifts. Since some people realized that this town had the needs that many needed, they bought land from Tobias and his wife and settled there. By 1921 the population was 302 and farming had become big there. Geography

Apache Springs has a total area of 6.5 square miles (17km2)

Decline

After Tobias and Marie's death in 1959, the population declined as there was a town war on who would become mayor of the town, a larger road was constructed just 5 miles north (8km) of Apache Springs and the towns motel and gift shop barely had any sales. By 1960 the population had declined to 56 people.

Regrowth

In 1989, the population had dropped to 13, the town was mostly abandoned and rotting. Businessman James Kivner bought the town for 1.5 million USD. He hired a team to fix up the town and the newly renovated "Main Street" the road that ran through the middle of town. In 1992 agriculture and the population rose, the town was destined to grow once again. He grew the population to 209 by 1996 since Main Street was going to become a state route and he knew how to draw in a population by selling cheap land. In 2002 Main Street became a part of State Route 38. In 2013 the population grew to 506 and Apache Springs Academy was opened there, along with a new general store, a fast-food restaurant, a diner, a bank, and a few more businesses. James elected himself mayor in 2014.

Demographics

According to the 2020 census, the population was 592 people, 275 households, and 162 families residing in the town the population density was 296 inhabitants per square mile. The racial makeup of the town was 95% white, 2% Hispanic or Latino, and 3% African American. 1.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 1.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 23.9% were non-families. 25.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.82. The median age in the city was 42.1 years. 19.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 4.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 16.3% were from 25 to 44; 35% were from 45 to 64, and 17.0% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 52.4% male and 47.3% female.
